I found this with my BH4 at about 10 inches in depth. To the best of all local memory , this ground had never been worked , nor developed. The first home built on this site was in 1948 , and prior to that , the area had been only woods. But , that is only in the recorded history. There is no mention of this property of any significance other than ownership recorded prior to '49.
I rechecked the item with my Fisher F2 today , and it reads in the 72-81 range , depending on angle and side exposed to the MD.
Does anyone have any suggestions , or perhaps you have found something similar. This is driving me crazy , and I am working on a meeting with a local historian and naturalist
sometime this week , so perhaps he may shed some light.
