Hello all, this was in my shed when I purchased a place, has no numbers on it or anything. Has a handle on the back, I've looked everywhere for info and cannot get any. Thanks
5" bottom
18" roughly top to bottom
weighs 20 pounds

Can you post a photo of the bottom too (large end)? Also, what is the diameter? without a reference or measurements it’s hard to tell what you have... thanks.

To be honest it looks like a projectile of sorts. The handle could be a ring welded on for a chain, like you see around cannon displays etc, at museums, VFWs, American Legions.

It makes me think of a plumb bob, but I’ve never seen one that large or that heavy.

Now I'm certainly no expert in this area... but could it be a bomb training aid/device? :icon_scratch:
Possibly something used during the war in Korea or Vietnam?

I'm stumped. I look at this and at first glance thought the bottom portion looked sorta like a sabot/early rotating band design. The profile certaintly gives the idea of an artillery shell, but the handle on the base makes me think maybe its some tool? What kind of metal is that base portion that the handle is secured to? That could help.
