found these 2 rings this week
both are old gold found in waters of an old beach that goes back to the 1800's
one looks like a horseshoe with a spike thru it (I found an old gold years ago with similar mark)
the other looks like a fist/hand with 2 crossed arrows in its grasp

Hi Casper... I was detecting at a 1740's house in Eastern Mass. last Saturday and I found a gold ring with the same fist/arrows mark. I'm also trying to find out the maker. Have you had any luck with the ID?

I am also researching this hallmark on a 14kt gold victorian style bohemian garnet antique ring.DSCN5922.JPG Have either of you had any success in finding out more information about this crossed arrows in fist marking?

Just wanted to know if you've ever discovered anything about the jeweler's mark with the two arrows. I also have a small gold ring with a garnet with the same mark. Thank you.

Have you tested the rings for gold content or are they plated?

Nice finds :)

I've searched for a while for both marks - without luck, so far.

The first mark appears to be a horseshoe with a riding crop.
It also has a rectangular notch to its left.

Is that remains of glue or solder in the right of the notch?
Maybe the notch held a small insert with the maker's name?
