I am down to 7......1949 PDS, 1955 PDS, and 1958 P

And I did also find the 1955-D with my son one day, but at the time it immediately entered his collection as his find so I didn't count it (it was one of the first ones we found...didn't think it would be so hard to find another.

Melting???????????? :icon_scratch: Nothing personal.....THANK GOD they didnt have such ideas 40 years ago or we'd be crhing bicentennials!!!! Why on earth do you have the need to melt? These coins have been around for longer than most of our lifetimes. Cant people at least try to sell off to an investor who will preserve for future generations. Maybe in 20 years you or grandkids may refind some of that silver again.

Ok melting was probably not the best word to use. I mean I will sell them for the silver to whoever will buy them, what ever they do with them is up to them. I save the Franklin's, Walkers, Merc's & Barbers for my collection. But Kennedy's and Rosie's are just silver to me.

I have seen some youtube videos of jewelers melting bullion coins & silver coins to make ingots and other silver jewelry. It happens....
