Anyone familiar with this Belt Buckle??

Can anyone identify this belt buckle? I found it in a field that I normally find a lot of early american relics, but this buckle has only one marking that says "ENGLAND" in all uppercase lettering... I was thinking 1800's but maybe earlier.. just cant find any info on it or pics

Is it smaller than a Volkswagon or bigger than a postage stamp?

Looks like a saddle cinch buckle to me but I don't know the size.

This is a girth buckle for keeping a saddle. This should have a center pin that probably came off at some point. If you can see an indentation on one side where the pin would lay up after passing through the girth then it is post 1978. If not pre '78.
