I was at my bank this week and asked if they had any halves. They said, "yeah, we have $160 in halves and $135 in Eisenhower dollars." I, of course, said "I will take them all." I figured it would either be great or nothing, and they were all skunks. I did find all 4 varieties of bicentennial Ikes, big and small letters from the p and d mints.
Anyone else notice the banks seem to have a lot more Ikes than they used to? Now I have picked up about $300 in Ikes this year, still haven't found any silver. It was fun opening those big rolls and hoping for a peace dollar or a Morgan. The halves came in $20 rolls which I have not seen before. All the wrappers looked pretty old. Must be another CRH guy dumping in my area, but the Ikes were dumped by the same guy as the halves according to the teller. Maybe with the silver craze people who did hoard Ikes are deciding to cash them in and get halves. What's the consensus on picking up Ikes?
