Hello,

i am new here, not sure how all this works. But here goes... A friend of mine bought an 1910-1920's built house... in the backyard, there is a wooded area where we keep finding toys and car parts buried in the woods.

we found this figurine... not sure if it's lead or brass. I looked at thousands of pictures of lead toys on the net and can't find this aproximately 2 - 3 inches high figurine anywhere. anyone can ID this? and maybe tell us what's it worth?

There looks to be writing on the little bump on the stand next to the peg leg

Thanks all for identifying the character. it definitely is long john silver. However, i have looked on google, checked thousands of images, looked on antique toys and antique auctions site... nothing. this thing is either rare, highly unpopular, forgotten or any mix of the above.

if anyone finds information on this thing (maker, era, value, part of a set?) please let me know, it's driving me nuts.

thanks all.
