Is this Banner worthy?
I was going to ask about the odd square shape in the middle of the found coin and the examples from Iron Patch,
but a quick google provided the information
The first coinage of these joint Sovereigns was of tin with a square plug of copper, as in the preceding reign, under a commission dated 12th October, 1689, and granted to Charles Godolphin and others. On both the halfpenny and farthing the busts of the King and Queen are side by side, that of William foremost, both looking to the right; the King in armour, the Queen wearing a mantle. The dies were engraved by George Bowers until his death in February, 1690, and afterwards by Henry Harris, and James Roettier.

I don't recall ever seeing one of these posted from North America.

I don't know what it was either. The obverese looks to have two headed bust and the reverse looks to have a person sitting and reaching out holding something. It was one of the first coins I found when I got started Mding from a early site.

Don in SJ said:Without a doubt the Tin Halfpenny is not a common find by any means. I checked my friend's Summer of 2005 article in "The C4 Newsletter" and in that article "Survey of Colonial Coins Recovered in Southern New Jersey, he has 1 Tin William and Mary listed that he found. I might add he has listed 4 William and Mary Halfpence, 1 William and Mary Farthing, 5 William III Farthings and 46 William III Halfpence all found by him locally.
I have quite a few William coppers but no tin ones.

You may wish to put it on eBay with a stated reserve.
