West side Oregon prospecting

Hi, Orien,
Yes, there is gold on the west side of Oregon!! Coastal gold is just one of the types of gold to be found on the west side.

#1: Gold Beach is actually a location on the Oregon coast where beach placer mining has occured and still occurs to this day in an on/off fashion.

#2: check w/Armadillo Mining Shop
2041 NW Vine St
Grants Pass OR 97526

#4: A wonderful gold mining history resource at the "Sunny Valley exit" up north of Grant's Pass....a mining museum--very modern with multi-media presentations, etc.

Exit southbound I-5 at the Sunny Valley exit, go back west under the interstate, and it will be the first "old timey" bldg on your right.

#5: Copy of SW Oregon hardrock and placer history is available at the mining museum. About $20

How about further north in the Seaside and Tillamook areas on the beach or up the creeks/rivers? Anything worth looking for there?

Thanks

Jim

Yes, of course it is worth looking for gold throughout the entire west side.

"Gold and Silver in Oregon" (c) 1968...out of print. Chk college libraries in your area. Very thorough.
