Anybody out there know old books???

So it's been a few months since i have been on the forum its been a long winter and the weather is getting nice so its time to find some treasure. Anyway this was not a detector find but I got this old book/manual for 50 cents at an Estate sale on Saturday and I have tried to do some research and found nothing on the author only that the book was printed in 1914 and could be ordered through popular mechanics magazine for a whopping $2.50. can anyone give me an idea on the possible value of something like this or if its something of value at all? I'm at a loss. thanks for looking
