I'd love to give you a picture and will if I can figure out how to scan on my computer.

As it is, I'll just have to ask you to bear with my description.

I found a 1980 Kennedy half which appears to have been gold-plated - it certainly has a gold color everywhere. Weirdest part is '1960' is stamped above the "In God" and '1980' is stamped above the "We Trust". Apparently, the stamping was done before the gold-plating.

Any ideas???

Thanks in advance!

I have no idea but I sure would like to see a picture of it.

There are lots of novelty 3rd party varieties of these. Sold as souvenirs for
certain events or happenings. No real extra value other than to someone
collecting novelty coins. Check Ebay , Ive seen lots on there. I have a few
gold plated versions ( none with stamping), but others on this forum have posted
stamped versions just like the one your describing.

All sorts of weird things done to coins out there. Its neat finding them. Good
conversation pieces for the collection :)

Happy searchin'

Here's one I just dug out of my box.
No value to me except it might be to somebody one day.

I found one not too long ago- I still have no clue as to what those dates are for; 1960-1980?

I found one Tuesday... tossed it right back into the box because I can't imagine it being worth anything.

High school reunion? Wedding aniversary? I have found both 1960/1980 and 1960/1985. There may be other dates if they kept up the tradition.
