Re: Anybody know what it is?

It's a military crest for an Air Force Command or US Army Unit... you have the picture on it's side.

You can clean it with anything short of acid... it's not valuable and maybe you can get something to stand out, litle words, that'll help identify it.

Maybe some simple green and a toothbrush or something?

Maybe I can figure it out... by the way - welcome to treasure net!

EVERYthing we find is good... just not gold! :) I looked at several hundred crests and could not find one that was close enough to consider a match...

Maybe someone else can help you out. If you can make out sanything on the scroll at the bottom there may be a chance! :)

Re: Anybody know what it is?

Welcome wizard and I hope to see many more treasure finds like this from you. That will help make up for my lack of finds lately :tongue3:

Montana Jim is right about seeing if we can read the motto on the scroll. It will almost certainly be the key to indentifying the crest.

I have found a Regimental crest that is very similar with regard to the colors and shape of shield - but obviously otherwise different.

It belongs to the Chemical Corps Regiment and the motto means " Let us rule the battle by means of the elements"

Which is a bit scary :icon_pale:

The crest has two words, the first word is hard to idnetify but ends with E, O. the second word says RAPIDAMENTE.... I live close to the Mexican border this might be a mexican crest, because RAPIDAMENTE, means fast in spanish!! that is what i have on the words on the crest for now..

I was able to read the message because i cleaned it up a little... water, soap and a soft brush did the job... It is not very visable but under a good light and good magnifying glass you can tell thats what it says!! Thanks again Mike!
