Found this item the other day - It's approximately 1 1/8" in diameter. It's obviously celebrating the 500th anniversary of something/some event that occurred in 1407. I've searched the internet with no luck. Any and all help identifying this item will be greatly appreciated.
Sorry about the size of the pictures - I can't figure out how to get them the correct size.

That's not Greek,it's the Cyrillic alphabet-it must be a Slavic language
The church on the reverse looks like an Orthodox church
Perhaps it's commemorating some religious event such as the founding of a church, a religious order, etc
That's all the help I can offer

1907 - 1407 = 500 years, so some event that spanned 500 years maybe. Church / religion maybe.

I think it is the Cathedral of the Assumption (I'm not kidding) located in the Kremlin which was built in 1407 or even the Ascension Monastery which had the foundation stone for its cathedral laid in 1407 also in the the grounds of the Kremlin.

Typical Nahabit never around when you need him ;D ;D ;D

Good call, Harry!

The Ascension Convent, known as the Starodevichy Convent until 1817 (Russian: Voznesensky monastery, Вознесенский монастырь), was a female cloister in the Moscow Kremlin which contained the burials of grand princesses, tsarinas, and other noble ladies from the Muscovite royal court.

It is believed that the Ascension Monastery was founded in 1389 next to the Saviour Gates of the Kremlin by Dmitry Donskoy's widow, Eudoxia Dmitriyevna, who would take the veil there. The foundation stone for the cathedral was laid in 1407, just before her death.

I will add that this building was destroyed in 1929 to make room for a military training facility.

Cool medallion with lots of history!

Great job to all who posted.

As the "wiki" source indicates, this structure was built in 1407, rebuilt in 1467, restored in 1518-1519, then again restored in 1587-1588; and finally dismantled in 1929. My guess is the medal reflects what it looked like in 1907.
