Now this DOESN'T come close to a 100lb. lead/silver bar or 1700 coins and buttons but its all I got for now. A friend in MI. took me to where an old store once stood. He said he "heard" that long ago it had burned down. There was nothing around but woods and what looks like an old logging road. This is in the Orangeville area in S.W. MI. I realize the token isn't worth anything momentary but thought someone might know about it. I searched the internet but I'm doing something wrong because I can't find a thing on it. We found about 20 of these among a LOT of trash. I also found 3 piles of melted metal which rang up about 86 on my Whites Spectrum. The piles are non-magnetic and light????

The token is 1" in diameter. 37 grams or 0.13 oz. One side says J.F. LOWERY across the top and the other side says "GOOD FOR 10 (cents) IN TRADE". Now I realize there are probably 1,000,000's of these tokens around but thought maybe might know more or where to look.... Thanks for any info. Brad

tokens are cool to find. They always make me think of an earlier time in our country when a customer's business was appreciated. Doing a search on this site didn't turn much up, but they do list a 5 cent in trade token of the same name, listed as unknown and unattributed to any particular state. Perhaps you can send them a pic and info of yours and they will add it to their database TokenCatalog.com

Thanks.... and I did just that... stay tuned!!!! I never realized that some tokens hold some value for collectors. Some of the others are in even better shape. I just brought home this one and left the others with my friend. I wonder if some of the melted piles of metal are other tokens now?
