Hi,
I am new to this hobby and site. My friend bought a detector and we have been searching on our place in Comanche Texas. Both of the items are metal, but a magnet does not attract them, so I guess brass or something. The other item looks like it was maybe a part of a hasp. I don't think these items are related, becuase they were found almost a mile from each other. Any help would be appreciated. Our area has history of Spanish silver mines and with a name like Comanche, you can guess the Indian history. We found a bunch of other stuff that we could identify and had a blast.

Wild guess: the handle type thing could be to lift a cast iron hot plate off a wood stove.

I'll take a guess at the oval disk at the top.Since your in an area where Indians lived and still do,I would guess by the location of the holes and its size, that could have been used as a gorget by some modern(late 1800's-early 1900's) Indians.Too bad it doesn't have a design on it.Hey!just my two cents!
