Have this cool toy water pistol that I know nothing about such as when, where and you made it. A lot of research and I'm coming up empty handed. I have found patents from the late 1800's with squeeze bulbs but the design of the gun is different. I thought it may have been a school project as it is cast iron but this piece is to crude (the flashing has not been filed smooth) and any thing more modern would have had a cleaner finish. Any & all information, leads etc are appreciated. Thanks in advance to all..

I am not an expert. Pokin' around on the Internets I saw a couple of M&L Toy Co. water pistols with very similar bulbs.

One said it was from 1890-1900, the other didn't have a date. Different "guns" - similar bulbs. The later sold on eBay for $15.

Good luck to all,

Sure does, the barrel is the same and looks like they put a new squeeze bulb on it. It also looks from the picture like this one is finished smoothly. Thanks Creskol that's a great start...

Hey Cariboo,

Very cool ray gun, sir. It has a decidedly Buck Rogers / Flash Gordon look, to my eyes. Is it marked at all?

Thanks surf...great lead and a source for me to email with questions. No there is no marks at all. The one thing that seems different is the squeeze bulbs look like a different style. I did find out that these may have been a 1940's drug store $0.15 item. Funny how things go, I looked and looked and nothing and after posting here thanks to you all its all coming together..
