Just checked my tracking number and the Omega i bought from forum vendor Miller MDZ is out for delivery today.I hope to get out an use it for a few hours this evening,Im upgrading from the delta 4000 and fisher F4 i currently have,Is there any pointers you can give me that may up my success rate starting out with this detector? I have the 10 inch elliptical concentric coil and the 5 inch coil for the detector right now,Plan to get the 11DD coil when the funds allow for it.What mode is best to start out with and how many tones did you guys run when learning this machine? Ive read the online manual and it recommends a sensitivity of 70 for starting out with it but that seems a bit on the low side to me. Basically my question is,Did you just manually ground balance it,run in AT and then dig everything to learn the machine or what? Thanks for your input and sorry for the long winded question,Im just anxious and excited to get a new toy.Your input will be greatly appreciated!!

i can tell you 56-57 is always a nickel basically you can turn this on ground balance and go.... best mode is all metal until you learn how to discriminate its a very simple machine to learn and use if any more questions feel free to ask me ..... i usually run always in all metal mode. depending on your conditions i always run mine at 99 sensitivity unless im around power lines.the one downfall of this machine is that it loves bottle caps but there is a little trick when your getting a signal lift your coil and keep swinging if the numbers drop its probably a cap but if not then its a coin and i personally think two tones is the best but thats up to you
