Re: any spots around madison county?

You must be talking Madison County, FLA. There's also a Madison County in VA which I know very well... oh well..

Re: any spots around madison county?

Just jump in the Suwannee.
It is loaded with fossils. Tons and Tons.
It's like a fossil toy store.
Florida is world famous for Plio-Pliestocene fossils and the Suwannee is a great dive spot for them. Anywhere, it does not matter just jump in.
If there is hard bottom, which up there it almost always is, you will find fossils.
But don't forget your Florida fossil permit!

DR,

What is, when is it required, and how does one get, a fossil permit?

My wife wants to start into the fossil collecting/mega teeth area of hunting.

DR,

Thank you for the link. It proved most useful and answered my questions. Particularly the specific one concerning shark mega teeth, which in part states, "Fossil sharks teeth are specifically excluded from these regulations".

But even if it wasn't, 5 bucks is easy for the permit.

Thanks again for the hard copy!
