I just spent the weekend in the Adirondaks of NY looking for caves that are supposed to have Indian Gold in them. There were 4 of us searching. There was several small entrances to what looked like caves in one cliff face we found. We wanted to try and go in, but there were too many signs of danger around. We noticed several spots where one small rock was holding up several very large boulders. There were also a couple points that looked to be lightning bolts pointing to the cave entrances, and also one heart shaped rock with the right ventricle broken off. I didn't have my camera there at the time, and we were too tired to go back and take pictures the next day. Has anyone heard of Spanish traps in New York or was it just natural? ??? We didn't go in cause we didn't want to take any chances.

The Spanish weren't the only ones who hid goodies in caves and then created death traps.

The KGC was notorious for doing that.

Imbones--- Good thinking on your part !!!!! From what I have read, the Spaniards were in most of the states. Have you taking a look at the " death trap post" that's a few post below this one? At the very end of first page there's pictures and Post # 74. Alos, Post # 150 hase a heart schisled out o side of large boulder, notice the bench to the left of heart.

Jacko,
I read that a few months ago, and it was a great thread. That's how I noticed the tell tale signs of a trap of some sorts. I really wish I got pictures of it so I could post them. We are going to go back next year to try and get in, but if we can't do it safely we aren't going to do it. Thanks for the info about the traps also to both of you!

read ''death traps to treasure '' by charles kenworthy.....it may save your life, well worth the ten bucks it will cost you..........gldhntr

The only Spanish Traps I know for sure in NY, are in Brooklyn. If you aren't Spanish...watch out!

Check your 6.

Good luck....
