Any Plumb Bob experts out there?

I recently dug what I believe to be a Keuffel & Esser plumb bob from a local ghost town. it is marked with a star and the numbers 6482-12. (similar to the picture)The town dates from at least 1875. do the numbers mean anything to anyone?

Do you have any pix that show size in relationship to....
I have several PBs only one is of the age you are showing.

I dont recognize the K & E numbers but its a very common generic shape. Slim Jim, cast brass, steel point. Value 5- 10 dollars. Why the e-Bay pic?

Sounds good to me, K&E has been around for ever. I have about twenty plumb bobs all different snaped. Bob

Maybe. It may be old but has little monetary value. I have one like it. Compare that to a Stanley No. 2 with the reel and patent date that I sold for over $100 on eBay.
