Is the other side decorated or plain?
Is it light like aluminum, or heavier like silver?

I wonder if it is related to AA. They use the triangle with a circle in the middle. Just a SWAG.

The all seeing eye went looking for the other eye? :laughing7: I think youve got some, junk jewelry there, like a pewter spencers pendant.

I thought it may have been silver but wasn't sure

There is nothing on the back.. It's smooth except one spot looks like a soldering mark maybe where a pin was that's why I was thinking brooch. So far you all had ideas I never thought of. But I still can't find another like it. Bugging me hah

aa uses a circle with a triangle in the center of the circle. Not that I would know for sure though, LOL!

Why yes..AA DOES use a triangle with the circle in the middle...and I DO know that for a fact...dont ask..while certain symbols and tokens related to AA have changed over the years, the basic design of a triangle with a circle inside has not. This appears to be an intricate, hand-made token. Todays AA tokens are basically aluminum round "coins" that designate a certain members length of continuous sobriety, in months. The yearly coins are made of a heavier grade of metal. And we do cherish them dearly. Sorry to get off subject there, got all excited about something that I DO know about. That is a GREAT piece...intricate, hand-made design with great detail. Thanks for sharing!! ddf

Looks Greek to me with the key pattern.
Does it look like it may have had a hoop to hang, or just the solder on the back so it looks like a broach?
Could it be something on the order of Pythias?
Doesn't remind me of any AA medallions.
Looks more like a frat pin[h=1][/h]

It's doesn't look like any hood just a small solder mark on it.. I been looking up AA pins brooches can't find that one at all do make me believe it's not AA .. Beats the crap out of me. Seems like no one has a real clue either. Hopefully Someone will be able to give a definitive answer.

Btw I google Pythias triangle brooch. Looks very similar to a lot that came up.. Still cannot find that one though. I am more intrigued by it now then I ever was.

Stylistically this thing is art deco (1920's-30's) with the Greek key design. Geometric shapes were common elements to jewelry pieces in that time as well. AA was barely off it's feet in late 30's, and didn't adopt their logo until 1955, which they have since dropped. If it were meant to be a sobriety chip (or any kind of token for any group) it would have Something on the back. So I'm sticking with it being part of a 30's deco brooch, for now.

It may not be a brooch. I have a lot of costume jewelry that I bought at auction. In it there were several earrings that looked like this. The studs were soldered on. If you think this is too large you should see some of the monsters they wore.
