If you Google Abraham Lincoln brass token you will see several of these. I'm not sure who made this one but it is a modern commemorative token. There are similar tokens for several presidents. Shell Oil had a set a few years ago but I don't think this is the Shell coin.

Think you have a late 18th C shirt collar/vest stud rather than a cufflink there - very cool find!

An example of mid-19thC shirt studs here - notice the rounded end distinguishes it from a cufflink. The stars may suggest patriotic theme and therefore my thought that this dates to late 1700's - hard to tell.
