If it helps any Brandon I had a 1270 that I sold to my friend and I don't miss it at all.

The newer models are better anyway, in my opinion.

On mine (and several others) if you used the "silencer" and "iron reject", it just killed the depth on it, and I mean it stunk!

That's they way mine worked in East Tennessee and North Florida, at any rate.

I seriously wouldn't trade my used Silver Umax for a brand new one.

The 1266X (or ANY 12X series), CZ-7, 7a, CZ-70 Pro, CZ-3, CZ-5, the F-70 and (As long as it isn't one of the very first) F-75's everyone are much better than the 1270
in my opinion.

But if you have your mind made up, I hope you find one!

well i had a los banos model and ran iron rejection on it and never had a prob it was deeper than my tesoro tejon i once owned, I loved mine found some of best stuff with it!

Maybe Maine has less mineralized dirt than the South or something.

Whatever the case is I hope you find another like it.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried an F-70 or F-75?

Heck, I own several White's and Garrett's too, but the majority of mine are Fisher and next, Tesoro.

no prob just have found that most of my fishers that i've owned were deeper than my tesoro's and that i like the lower freq as well which is better for coin hunts
