The small badge has U.L.M.B.A above the two clasped hands. The other is a hollow tube with wire twisted around it. The coin is for comparison.

I was hoping it could finally be identified.

I have a book that was my grandfathers, the only date I see is 1901 as you can see in the pic.
The date is when it was entered into the library of congress, so the book must be older
The strange thing is that he drew a picture in the back,in pencil, with the two shaking hands.
I always wondered what it meant. Maybe somthing to do with prohibitions,
meaning moral or religious prohibitions.
Dont know if there is a connection to the item found or not.

Your first item IMO...

Is a piece considered a "handshake" piece... at one time in America this "logo" appeared on MANY items that signified good business.

Now... having said this I have no way to prove or even disprove this theory and perhaps a positive I.D. will see if I am correct.

As far as the second item... tourist / head shop opium pipe style pipe stem perhaps.

It does resemble the Masonic Pass Grip. Maybe something to do with Lodge 192?

Looks to me like a membership token in a trade union.

Shaking hands are common symbolbs in trade unionsism and the abbreviation starts with an "U". Could be Union of .....

I see no OP comments yet and no solve...

Shiloh... are you sure about the last three letters ? I cannot make them out due to crud.
Try a quick gentle rub to make sure of these...
unless that is... you are positive on them.

This could stand for anything...

Notice the "frills" on the wrists of the hands...

IMO... this could be something to do with women.

Something or anything like "United Ladies Marching Band Association"... type of dealio / scenario... but ? ? ?
