Any information on this old makeup?

Found this today along with 1950s Whitehall/anacin bottle and an early 1960s washing machine that was completely buried underground. I am assuming this makeup case is from 1950-1960 ish. the left side cleaned out easily, but whatever is in the right side is solidified on and I’m still working on cleaning it (any tips on getting all the dirt off?)

I’m new and I hope I’m posting this in the correct forum. Not a treasure hunter, but noticed the top of a washing machine sticking out of the ground while on a trail walk today which led to a pile of old stuff. Only took the Whitehall bottle and the makeup (if it’s even makeup hur is day it’s safe to assume so because of the mirror and the design on the cover)

Pretty cool find I'm no makeup expert but it looks to be a vintage compact of some sort I wouldn't really bother trying to get all the dirt off who knows how much is dirt and how much is old makeup but that gunk might actually be what's holding the item together you can identify what it is it's in pretty good shape and the mirror is unbroken I would just leave it as is but it's your item so of course do whatever you want with it

Make up compact I would check out that washing machine bet theres some coins in the back of it those were built to last back then I remember my dryer when I was a kid boom boom boom while drying still worked for 20 pluis years when I took the back of it looked like a scrap book of my life old pot pipes lighters change cash an old drivers liscens ect ect ect

The washing machine is buried COMPLETELY underground in a park so I’m not sure if I’m allowed to dig it up

Very cool personal relic, congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Hey ... you’re just doing your due diligence as a concerned citizen! Don’t want to see some little dirt demon get his grubby head stuck in it! Like Tommy sez, if that unit is an older model which actually lasted awhile, there is a great chance that the best treasures are yet to be found! Ddf.
