Hi I came across this chair and although it's appears to have some amount of paint layers and the seat is all but gone I think it's lovely And was hoping some of the great knowledgeable people on here may have some info on its age and is this classed as a ladder back? Thanks in advance for any help

I didn't think they put "decorations" of any type on their furniture? Can you elaborate on the spade design as it relates to Shaker or Quaker furniture/chairs?
