Great value to me if I recovered it.
Saw a poor specimen of a trade hawk in the early eighties in Grand Ledge for just under a hundred. Yours having a makers touchmark plus it's condition will make it worth plenty more to the right buyer. Might be best to keep it in the condition it is in in photo ....

This is the link I usually post for questions of trade hawks and axes. http://www.furtradetomahawks.com/
The touch marks on yours are somewhere on the internet...not sure where right now or if on the link but have seen them somewhere so that's a plus.
Great find.Great state but nothing like that has turned up (yet) where I been in the lower,l.o.l..

This mark is called the "cross within a circle" mark...
It is French.
1575-1670.
I believe it to be a Biscayne trade axe.

Thank you you for the information. I had someone look at it and offer me $150. I know it's hard to tell just looking at the photos but does that seem like a fair price? It is definitely a neat find though.

Another site.http://warehamforgeblog.blogspot.com/2013/09/french-trade-axe-from-bloom-iron-1.html
As to a selling price.
Well...the item would need to first be from private land before considering buying or selling it.

Price depends on what a buyer is willing to pay. I would not be in a hurry to sell until similar items selling prices were established.
150 a well worn one was valued at several years ago on a forum.
A replica hand forged hawk like one I throw can be found for around fifty bucks but a high quality reproduction of yours can run more than 150. Cast ones run cheaper, especially in quality or less desire for use in historical reproduction type events..
