I came across this years ago. It’s all wood. Missing 2 pieces, but still looks great. Any info on it, or on the signature would be much appreciated. It’s about 2 feet tall.
Just doing ssome tidying up of old unidentified works.
I love quirky works of art and that’s a nice acrylic on wood sculpture by Markus Pierson, born in 1961 in Grand Lodge, Michigan. It’s from his “Coyote” series inspired by the Joni Mitchell song of that name about a footloose Casanova-type guy and first produced in June 1986.
That particular piece is titled “On the Road to Her” for which there are several versions. Some have a ticket in the guy’s hand, and some have a long-stemmed flower but, sadly, yours is missing some pieces including the moon behind the cactus. Typical auction prices for undamaged pieces with all their parts might be around $125, with the limited edition runs fetching more, Some of the runs were as short as 10 pieces.
