any info on these buttons???

found a very odd piece.. looks like an ear ring but the back of it doesnt seem to be an er ring.. it has a clasp that moves up and down with a threaded end... its not gold. looks plated.. no clue..


also found an old french button.. couldnt find any info on the maker or year it is from..

any info is greatly appreciated.
