If you push the point onto something and it releases/clicks then its a push point.Glass men,police, and firefighters have them.It will break a piece of tempered glass like the side windows of cars in a heartbeat for emergency.

Yup. Its a retractable scribe. I used one for years. Some had a carbide tip and others had a diamond tip.
Industrial grade diamond.

The type for breaking glass, as mentioned, is the one that "pops" when pushed in. I don't think this is one of those. Just a scribe as has been said.

I use one for "splitting rows" when I have to do a carpet installation.If yours doesn't retract,could be froze up.Unscrew the top and take it apart,maybe oil it up some.

metal scribe,the button at the top pushes the tip out,button above the clip retracts the tip.
to break glass place tip on glass and smack it with a big hammer,if your lucky it might break
tempered glass ;D
