Surprising we MDers do not find more plumb bobs. I have read that they were commonly used to make walls vertical during building construction in the past. Today, bubble levels are more commonly used, although I remember carpenters and masons using them last century during house construction. The brass one in the picture is very nice.

Yes it is. DL. What is the purpose of a counter stamp?

I havent looked or read any info that much into counter stamps. But I believe they would stamp the coin in some cases to Void the coin. I think in other instances another country or territory would stamp them to allow them in as their currency.
