I found this in the old city square that has had schools on the property and is now a park. We've found our oldest stuff here. I think it may be copper. The inside has wood or leather in it. There are 2 little screws on one side and one has a small washer thing on the inside. I think there may be iron in the top hole. It may not be anything but has us intrigued as to what it may have been. All ideas appreciated! Thanks for looking!

Don't have any idea, but looks like it was circular to start and got rolled up, Looking forward to finding out.
I was thinking that but the metal is really hard and heavy. It definitely could be rolled up.

I think @DCMatt is on to something. A thing-a-ma-job that was screwed in to the end of something wooden and then got smushed.
Agreed. Weird that with as stiff as the metal is that the edges are turned in. Never found anything smushed quite like that.
