This seems familiar to me in some way, maybe I’ve seen similar objects posted on this site. Found at the entrance of an old cellar hole (but maybe not that old). It’s one inch long. Across the top of one side of the upper ring it says “patented” and the upper half of the other side says “Sept 1874”. The bottom of the lower ring has a 7 on that side. Thanks for the help.

It's a broken off key wind pocket watch key. Have several identical in my old watch collection. 1870-1910. Nice find

Go back to the cellar hole. That watch just might be there still. Great find on the pocket watch key winder. Nice save.

Which detector did u use the 800 or the pro???

Used the 800. I’m forcing myself to learn it, or at least try and learn it. I just need to exercise more digging discipline. I seem to dig targets even when I know they are trash and that gets very frustrating. Especially here in Connecticut where the rural areas are littered with square nails that give readings of 26 (dime) along with a lot of iron grunts. I’ve got to learn to trust the machine.

You'll miss good targets if you don't dig those iffy ones... Just saying...

Take the pro, which I think you have a good handle on, and cover the same area with max sensitivity and see if that clock is down there. good luk
