Do have any ideas what this could be from? Maybe a clean out gate from an old wood stove, or a gate on the back of an old dump truck?

looks like a chimney clean out door...i have one like that in my cellar for cleaning the chimney .

Okay, the last line reads Oct 31 1905

Okay cool! Thanks releventchair! It looks like the middle line is a date too. So L21 McCord Pat Feb7 1890 Oct 31 1905. And a makers mark triangle with. Capital T inside.
