Welcome to the forum! Judging by the back of it, I would say it is a blazer button, but I'm not one of the button experts, so hopefully some others will chime in. Buttons are always fun to find whether they are old or modern. Breezie

I have never seen a drawer pull with that type of back..... However I have seen coat buttons with a back like that.

Excellent point... it is pretty flat. But I have never seen a Federal furniture style button?

My initial thought (the one I edited :P ) was that it was a curtain tie back.

I like that suggestion :icon_thumright: Sometimes the initial thoughts are spot on

I like Goodys diagram but I have not seen a button this way. If anyone has an example, please post.

I have unsoldered, floppy shanks but they are different.

Im not sure how this would mount to furniture either. Maybe something is broken off. :dontknow:

Final thought... a looking glass knob, like in Nutting, Furniture Treasury, #3085 (I always use the latest info ::) )

Maybe tie backs and looking glass knobs are the same thing? Either way, there is a shaft like a doorstop that is missing. But Sheraton stamped brass is famous for falling apart.

When I first looked at the flipped version I also thought the image was sunken instead of raised but, if I looked at it for a few seconds it appeared to be raised.
