Can we have something for size reference and
history of the area please. We really need something to
start with. Thanks, Jimbob

Jimbob, I put it next to a quarter for size reference ( about 2" in dia.) it's about an eighth inch thick. The area is a small town in CT. founded in the 1600's, about a quarter mile from long island sound and the green dates back to the early 1800's...Rich

It's about the right size and design for a Good Luck Arcade token, but I can't find any four pointed examples. Only 3,5,and 6 point examples.

I bet that's what it is, just a lesser known 4 pointer.

Just a wag, but a pretty good wag I reckon.

I thought the same thing until I read 1/8 inch thick. Seems a little much for one of those ??? ???

It's pretty heavy for an arcade token, seems like brass?? At first I thought it was a badge with the points broken off but it just doesn't look right...Rich.

It kind of looks like it could be part of a drain, part of the insert to keep things from going down the drain.

Could it be an old drain strainer, like in the bottom of a sink?? Rich.

You beat me to it, I think you'r right.. Rich.

Yeah. 1/8th of an inch is way to thick for an arcade token. I was responding at the same time he was.

Umm, Could it be a ball maker? You said you found it on a green.

Sort of off to the side in a wooded area but right next to the green. Whats a ball maker?

Dude hits ball onto green.
Dude picks up ball and places marker down where ball was.
Dude washes ball. (heh)
Dude picks up marker and puts ball back down.
Dude putts.

The first thing I thought when I saw it, was it looks like some kind of badge, but what do I know? Try zapping it with electrolosis. Or put it in some hot peroxide.......NGE

Yep it sure looks like a strainer out of an old tub/sink, where the plug fits

Dude spells it marker too instead of maker! Monty

Here's a pic for the drain idea.

This one is chromed brass.
It is thinner than the quarter is.

OK, thinking outside of the box here...

Could it be the "drain" on the bottom of the ball cup that is usually found on a green? The new ones have a plastic cup, but the old ones could have had metal in it...

I don't golf, just a WAG...

I would say clean it to see if you can find any markings. the holes seem kind of small for a drain to me.
