I found this today, any help. One side has a weird claw thing with a small little hole in each one, the other end tapers off and starts getting flatter. Any help??

size?
material?
dimensions of the fork?
Brady

If not bent than 8", Material Brass (and very old), Fork is around 1" long.

likely a fruit fork, fondue or the like.8" is impossible to use for campfire anything.

Maybe, Not sure though it seems that it is too short for that, you may burn your hands off if using it, not sure what the little hole on each side of the fork would be for then.

Its a old brass umbrella strut, could be as old as 1800s. The flat end goes to the push up ring. The forked end went around the rib and was pinned.

Thanks for the awesome ID Capsmith! I would have never guessed that it was from an umbrella. I'm pretty sure that you nailed it, after checking "umbrella strut" on google I definitely saw some matches.

Thanks! Coinman123
