found this at school house that is on an 1866 map. it was deep, at least 10", and sounded so sweet like it was silver. It read 90-91 at 12Khz on the XPDeus. It appears to be copper as it has that shine to it where i hit it with the shovel. it is 2&1/2 long and 2&1/4 wide. It seems to have a slight curve to it. there is one small protrusion on what i call the back and there might have been another one but it is not there now. as you can see there are lots of drilled holes in it. back.webpfront.webpside view.webpsmall tab.webp

thanks guys... that's probably what it is. if it were round i might have guessed that but being square it threw me off.

Its a bridge plate and has nothing to do with the round dial.
