Any ideas on this whatzit?

I found this in a park that has produced some coins as old as the 1860's. It's smaller than a US dime.
One side says P. Slocom on top then & CO and the bottom looks like possibly Sanford or Bradford. The other side says Watch Maker and Jeweler. It appears to be brass I think.
