Any ideas on this token?

Found this token along the Ohio River on the West Virginia side Sunday. It's in pretty rough shape. There appears to be an Indians head on one side, and on the other side it looks like it says "good for 5 cents" and below that it looks like the letters WAA, and on the bottom the only word I can make out is "BAR". I was wondering if anyone might have an idea how old it might be, or what type of token it is

Yes I have seen a similar token. The token I am going to link you to has the exact same "Indian head" side as yours
attachment.php

and also has the "slug plate" on the other side like your token. the Indian side is called "Indian with quiver of arrows" and this particular token has a different name in the slug plate.

believed to date around 1910 (the linked token)
GOOD FOR / 5¢ / C. / BODUNGEN / IN / TRADE (TC-56387) Bastrop, Texas (Bastrop County), U.S.A.

your token appears to have initials (perhaps W.A.A. ???) in the slug plate. Of course yours appears to be octagonal the linked token is round. Your token appears to say "GOOD FOR 5C AT THE BAR" on the non pictorial side, along with the name/initials.

the fact the linked token is from Texas, does not mean yours is...the design was used in several states IIRC.

Nice find.

Thanks for all the info. on the token. I had suspected it was at least early 1900's, but thought it might have been a little older due to the poor condition of it. I found several other items there as well, but couldn't really put a date range on any of them. I'll probably go back this weekend and see what else I can dig up!
