Those originate in the SE as Native American pipes in red clay. They were later produced commercially, and were popular into the early 1900's. They show up in the Midwest by the 1840's. So say 1840-1900, keeping in mind the later dates have more people and more stuff to loose in old farmhouses. :laughing9: :laughing9:
