It's a WW2 era M1 with a swivel bale, front seam and no liner. What's up with the stripe and decal? Any thoughts? Here's a few pics-

Neat.... Someone making a political statement I'd guess. I searched "official us taxpayer decal" and came up with some different ones that were made in the 1960's....

Ok, we are all on the same page at least. That was my original thought too. Funny thing is, it was purchased from a former soldier's estate. You wouldn't think a soldier would own something like this.

John Kerry was in the military and came back from Vietnam and protested. I would say out of ever 100 vets you get a couple that will protest. ( Not as much anymore because we have a volenteer military but when the draft was enacted).

lotsa protesters in the vietnam era....patriotism wasnt as high as it is today....we were advised to travel in civilian clothes...it was really bad in some places....

Maybe atfer he came back from the front he saw this protester wearing it. He ripped it off the guys head and beat him with it. Then he took it home as a trophy.
