Any ideas on these?

These are some sort of tools or maybe preforms that I found in the same field. The top one has a notch in the broad end. I'm thinking that they were probably preforms. Any ideas or opinions would be appreciated.

The second pic has something that looks like some sort of drill. It is definitely worn out, whatever it is. I have found a few of these in this field. This piece is 3 inches long.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the post Hillbilly! This rain is nuts! We go from severe drought in 2007 to flooding in 2008. My buddy told me that he has his plows hooked up. He is just waiting for it to dry up enough to turn the fields. I might have permission on a place in Boyle Co. that has already been plowed. They told me that there is flint everywhere. They also told me that they find steel balls from time to time. I bet they are finding solid-shot cannonballs. This farm is on the way to the Perryville battlefield. I want to walk that field so bad I can't stand it! ;D

Good luck!

Definately check out Paleo flake knives. Thats what the bottem one sure looks like to me! I like finding those as much as some points. The feilds here are too wet to even walk through. My best plowed ground is under water right now!
Good luck in your feilds.

Thanks for the post Johnnyreb! I found a little dalton in this field last fall. I'm hoping to get really lucky this year and find some paleo points! There's a field about a 1/4 mile down the road where a guy found a good-sized point. It was his third time looking for arrowheads. He said it didn't have a stem and the back end kinda curved in. He showed it to me and my jaw dropped! That guy found a clovis on his third trip ever! I couldn't believe it! He said that he was a little disappointed because he had not found a kirk or a large adena - something with a stem. I grinned and explained to him what he had actually found.

Hopefully the fields will dry out and we will all be finding a lot of points here soon!

Thanks for the info!

Good luck!

It's kind of hard to tell from the pics, but the first three do look like preforms to me. And I'll go with a flake knife as well on the other, Razor
