Thanks to my mom enjoying rocks I would always pick up things for her when I found them.... I think she stills has everything, she even has a couple geodes she's never even looked inside of for at least 40 years now.
I came across these at different yard sales but not sure what they are. I thought the one was some petrified wood but someone mentioned it looked more like a stalactite (I wet the cut end to show color better)... the other is some slice and mainly white. Any help would be appreciated!

Is it better to store your collections in the light or should they be kept out of the sun?

Thanks!

The top left is probably an agate.
Top right is difficult, maybe an fossilized coral. I've seen similar material, from Florida I think???

Bottom left is probably petrified wood.
Bottom right? I'm not sure.

Thanks! I was wondering if the one maybe an agate... the other 3 photos are of the same piece though, it's about 6 inches tall so I took pics of the different angles.

Ha, I didn't see that coming!

Regarding your question on where to keep you collection.
It all depends, some minerals colors will fade in light. Kunzite is known for that, for example.
However many minerals will not fade in light.
