Any ideas on my "eagle" button?

Just found this button today. I'm thinking military but have no idea which branch, which type of garment it would have been worn on or any idea on what time period it's from? It does say "WATERBURY CO." on the back and a few other words I can't make out. Any help would be great!

its a great seal button adopted in 1902 * -- by the back mark its one made after 1965 -- when "waterbury co" was used by the waterbury button company as its back mark. -- Ivan
