I am real curious about the button the most.

How thick is it? Looks almost like a large cent or a big copper repurposed

Any suggestions on trying to clean it to see if there are any markings?

The "rocks" look like cinders, partially burned coal. Often called "hot rocks". I have found a lot of these in old home sites, can be a real pain since sometimes they sound pretty good. Your "button" look sort of like a worn out old coin that was repurposed as some sort of button or washer. Bullets are from cartridge guns. Looks like you have a good area to hunt!!

Any ideas on what these???
rocks are? They are coming up as metal? Found old button with 2 square head punch holes, any ideas on time frame? Not sure what the curved things are. Found them in same hole. Nice buckle. The bullets are real nice. This hunt gave us a lot of questions. Nice day. I appreviate any feedback.

I could be wrong but the "rocks" look like what I call 'likely wrongly' Magnetite??? ..Very magnetic rocks but also could be Slag ? or Coals ? .

The "button" looks like the only Large Cent I have ever found (it had round holes tho ); it's hard for me to 'date' the Iron .

Does anybody else think the flat lead on the bottom right is a Fired round ball ?

A nice bunch of finds.

It actually may not been used as a button. It was fairly common in those days to take old large cents or half pennies and punch two holes in them to make a "whizzer" toy.

Some would have edge serrations like the above example, but most of the ones I've found have not.

Looks like a half cent with holes punched with square nails

My guess is a KG on the toasty whizzer. Seems pretty thin. Have a pic of the other side you can post?

Nice finds, congrats! :occasion14:
