Two piece British Navy???..1830's??? Total shot in the dark here.
 

possible royal marines, we added the eagle and globe for ours.

The best indicator of a civilian button is the iron back.

As an Ex Royal Navy man, my opinion is this is a blazer button. Typically, the crown was used on Navy buttons post early 1800's, unless privately made ie (Blazer button". The last common use of the "Fouled Anchor" without a crown was around Trafalgar, after then it was the "Fouled Anchor with crown". I have examples to prove this, along with my service, although.....................I might be wrong, but I don't think so :wink:
