Sometimes refered to as bayonet lightning rods becuase of the resemblance to the outlawed style of bayonet.

It's a bent threaded point to the top of a lighting rod.... I saw one of these at local flea market and the vendor wanted $7 for it.... I put it back. Yours could be straightened out if you left it in the summer sun for most of the day and used a brass hammer to straighten it. Of the parts to an old lightening rod system on the old homes, it's the hardest part to find.
