Any ideas as to this relic's ID ?

Made out of brass .. tinned or plated on one side ... it measures 3 1/8 inches roughly 1 5/8 inches .. no markings that I can find ... found by my daughter in a trash pit at DIV.

I would guess a lid from some sort of old tin?
