Definitely a bullet. Pretty much all of them come out of the ground with that white patina. Some have 2 rings. Some have 3 rings. The ones that are for cleaning the rifle barrel are different, but I can't remember if they only have 1 ring or a wider bottom. Nice find.

My guess is .44cal. Colt revolver, or Colt revolving rifle,

Thanks everyone! So this is a Civil War bullet? Does that mean it was used during the war?

Well PA is a good place to be for that time period, but any civil war weapon would have continued to be used back at home and on the farm for protect/hunting/fun, so that bullet could have been fired 5-10-100 years later - or during - I don't know anyway to prove it. Some times people post bullets found at known skirmish sites, those can be assumed to have been used during that event, but who knows for sure??

OH, and I think its a cool find, was wondering if you found it at the base of a tree, near a stone fence, anything that would have stopped that bullet real hard?

Thanks! I actually found it in the middle of a plowed field but apparently it was the woods back in the 1700-1800s, then torn down.

I did have a member mention it may be a modern bullet. Any thoughts on that? I’d love to just know I finally found a mini bullet (is that the correct terminology?)
